Brief van Mary

I am Mary Mlivi, the first born in a family of three children. I was born on 3rd March, 2006 at Chikwawa District Hospital. We are one girl and two boys. My mom died when I was in grade 3, that made us stay with our grand parents on the maternal side.

I did my primary school at Chikwawa primary and this secondary school here at St. Lawrence. I am in Form 4. This has been possible with generous assistance from the Foundation. St Lawrence Girls is one of the best schools around with hardworking teachers one can get. I like being here.

I am very grateful for the scholarship. I could not go to school, Secondary school, looking at the state of our home. However, the Foundation through Mr Moyo located me in my village and I am so happy and willing to do better at my MSCE.

Mr Moyois one of the teachers at St Lawrence. He is such a good teacher. He teaches us Biology. I admire his English speaking skills. One day I will speak like him.😂. He is never tired of advising me and my friends to work hard in class. He keeps saying that the situation at home can improve greatly with me in front.

My Formteacher, Miss Mercy Muyanika, is one of my role models. She’s full of advice too. As a class we are proud to have her as our mother.

My setback in Studies is mainly in English.

Being a passing subject, I must put an extra effort to do better.

The meals are good here. I can not complain. Food is well prepared and the diet is well balanced for a growing child.

On the Silver Jubilee Celebrations, I am looking forward to that day which will be in June, 2025. I would like to see the Alumni, interact with them and take part in some of the activities of the day.

All in all, I am very thankful to the Foundation for giving me a realistic chance to learn and to know life in a different perspective. I am so grateful to all teachers for the effort they are making to make is good citizens.
